Itinerary:
05:30 AM: Pre-Dawn Departure To Outer Banks
Early departure is critical for GT popping. We reach the outer banks before sunrise when GTs begin their first feeding frenzy. Captain briefs you on popping rhythm and safety protocols for working near reef edges.
06:30 AM: First Popping Session At Known GT Hotspots
Active popping begins as light increases. Captain reads bird work and surface boils to reposition constantly. Expect explosive topwater strikes within minutes of arrival.
09:00 AM: Vertical Jigging Over Deep Structures
As surface activity slows mid-morning, we switch to vertical jigging over 40-80m depths targeting Dogtooth Tuna and Amberjack. High-speed jigging retrieves trigger reaction strikes.
12:00 PM: Lunch Break & Tactical Reset
Hearty lunch served while anchored in sheltered water. Review morning footage, rest arms, and discuss afternoon strategy based on tide charts.
01:30 PM: Afternoon Popping Finale & Return
Final popping session targets the late-afternoon GT feeding window. This is often when the biggest specimens strike. Return to marina by 16:00 with cleaned catch.
