Tamarin Bay is home to one of the largest resident populations of Spinner Dolphins in the Indian Ocean. Our eco-conscious captains know their daily migration patterns intimately, ensuring ethical encounters that prioritize animal welfare over proximity.
From June to November, Humpback Whales migrate through Mauritian waters to breed and calve. During this magical season, you may witness breaching displays and hear haunting whale songs transmitted through our onboard hydrophone system.

Itinerary:
06:30 AM: Early Departure From Black River Marina
Meet your crew at dawn when dolphins are most active near the surface. We navigate quietly toward known feeding grounds using passive observation techniques to avoid disturbing natural behaviors. Safety briefing and snorkel gear fitting completed before departure.
07:15 AM: First Dolphin Encounter Zone
Our hydrophone picks up dolphin clicks and whistles as we approach the pod. The captain positions the boat downwind for optimal viewing. Guests can snorkel alongside spinner dolphins in their natural habitat while maintaining respectful distance guidelines.
08:30 AM: Coastal Exploration & Second Stop
We explore the dramatic coastline near Le Morne Peninsula, searching for additional pods or seasonal whale sightings. During whale season (Jun-Nov), we use acoustic monitoring to locate singing males without approaching closer than 100 meters as per regulations.
09:30 AM: Return With Memories & Photos
Head back to marina with shared stories and captured footage. Crew provides digital photo package via WhatsApp. Light refreshments served during the calm return journey as you reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.
